One of our antiques! The original Afghan dress itself was made in the late 1800s, where you can see the original embroidery and mirror detailing on the top half of the dress. You can then see where the dress has been later repaired in the early 1900s with the sleeves being repaired with upcycled velvet and embroidery, and in the late 1900s the bottom half of the dress upcycled with crushed velvet. The hard labour that went in to this dress can be seen, and it really has beat the test of time! There are a few scars with this dress, really adding to its character. We have taken photographs of the repaired areas but do feel free to ask any further questions.
